Aftermath: Once Upon a Time in Hellsgate

by evilrobotshane from ACOG

The Last War has blown itself out; survivors of the apocalypse scavenge the carcass of the old world to live. This poisoned town once had another name, but commanding the entranceway to a major city's irradiated husk it's become known as Hellsgate. It's a lethally volatile place, where the rogue town militia and the criminal Sweetwater gang vie for control of the zone, the resources and the trade. Their uneasy truce won't survive being shaken up, and the arrival of an opportunistic mercenary unit might be the match that's needed to burn Hellsgate to the ground.

The Sweetwaters are over there, the Militia there, and us right smack in the middle? That crazy bartender was right: there's money to be made in a town like this.

THE MILITIA

Established to maintain order and defend the town, necessity has made the militia more of a private army which, like everyone else, needs supplies and resources to survive. Nevertheless, it considers itself the legitimate authority in the area. It is led by The Brigadier, assisted by Captain Doyle, both of which are semi-LARP roles. Dressed in rag-tag civilian gear with military accoutrements; armed with long-arms.

THE SWEETWATER GANG

Organised criminals who have seized power and expanded greatly by exploiting knowledge of covert trade routes, sources and black markets. Firm believers in the saying that the Chinese character for 'crisis' is the same as that for 'opportunity'. Their patriarch is 'Red' Esteban, whose brother Ray acts as a lieutenant, both of which are semi-LARP roles. Dressed in neat civilian clothes, including suits; armed with sub-machine guns and shotguns.

General information

Players will be organised into small teams within each faction. You want your faction to come out on top, but you want your team to come out on top within your faction too. Also, optional individual motivations will be available (this time - the decks of motivation cards spent all of Salvage in my thigh pocket because I'm an idiot)

Flavour: roleplaying milsim, similar in style to the previous Aftermath game at HRTA, but with more individual decision-making and internal conflict.
